FAQ

Why was this web site concept started?

The original designers sat on this project for several years with no intention of bringing it to fruition. A series of adverse events created a change in their mindset. These events included data mining, selling and transferring of private information, tracking your buying habits, irritating pop up ads, trolling, and political bias favoring one party over the other. These are not the kind of issues a subscriber should be subjected  to when using a service. This is discussed in the about section under the heading “The Price of Free” on the home page.

How secure is my data and personal information?

All sites use military style encryption with information stored in two separate server banks in the United States, one on the east coast and the other on the west coast. Complete back up of your files is stored at each location. We do not sell,  transfer, share, or data mine your information

Can I subscribe to any group site?

Yes and no. generic sites, Travel, Marriage, Christians, etc. are open to all subscribers who have an interest in joining.  Military, Veterans and licensed vocation, professions, such as Nurses, Teachers and Firefighters are subscription restricted to provide these individuals with a platform to communicate, discuss issues unique to their work, social setting and bond with like minded individuals.

If I am a Nurse, how will you monitor the site to prevent anybody from joining?

All vocations and professions require some form of certification or licensing. This is public domain information. Periodic checks with a random sample of individuals within the group will be made to help insure this integrity is maintained. Individuals not confirmed will be denied access.

Why not let anybody subscribe to whatever site they may choose?

It would be exceedingly difficult to prevent trolling, data mining and misleading information from being exploited on a group site with open access. If you would prefer an all inclusive social web site, numerous platforms already exist in that venue.

What personal information do you need to verify my Group Status?

Your name and address are all that’s needed to access license and certification data with the State. This is public information that any citizen can access on the internet. No other personal information about you is required.

Do I have to sign up for a social group site to have access to the five free web sites?

Yes

Will these free web sites really provide any comfort to me and my family during a crisis?

You will get out of these web sites what you put in. If everyone is willing to be open, honest and caring about their situation when tragedy occurs then each platform will be a safe haven and sounding board for healing of the human mind and spirit. Just being able to communicate with like minded individuals in the same situation can help relieve stress that may otherwise spiral out of control.

What kind of journals/diaries are available and how can they be configured?

Personal, Work, Family, Bible and whatever subject that comes to mind. Each Journal/Diary is configured by the subscriber, colors, headings, scripts, back grounds, number of pages and many other attributes can be designed into the journal/diary to satisfy your criteria. You design it and make it your own.

How realistic is the journal/diary?

About as old school as you can get. If you like to write in an actual realistic looking journal, then you will love this concept that has been brought back to life on line through modern technology.

What can I transfer into the journal/diary?

The subscriber can transfer data by written text or by speech recognition software. Pictures can be uploaded and transferred below, above or beside your written text. Small video windows with @tags can be placed on the side of the page or in spaces left between the sentence/phrase. When you click on these small windows a video will appear for viewing described by the @tag line. The journal can be configured so that marriage certificates, birth certificates or any number of important items relevant to the subscriber’s life events can be uploaded and saved

If I have a tragic accident, what happens to my journal/diary?

There is an instruction sheet describing your options in the event of a tragic incident that is available on the site. This form is required to be filled out when you subscribe. Your privacy and instructions are extremely important to us and take precedent over all other issues.

Can I transfer my journal/diary to another social group site?

Yes. This was one of the main concepts in designing the platform so subscribers could move fluently from one social group to another as they progress through each stage of life. The first social group starts with middle school and as you progress to the next stage you have a new social group available to move into. Your journal/diary that contains all your thoughts, life events and dreams follows you at each phase of the journey. The final stop is retirement@mywalkthroughlife.com

What is your policy on foul language and bullying?

This web platform system and all the group sites associated with it have one overriding characteristic. They exist to elevate the human spirit not tear it down. Subscribers will be provided with a comments section called common decency where foul language, hatred and bullying can be reported. If confirmed, the culprit will be removed from the site. Pending further investigation, they will not be allowed to return.
